Downtown architecture is a contrast in old and new. New life has been breathed into older buildings… which stand alongside shiny new structures.

In Los Angeles a cluster of emergency vehicles may or may not be a real emergency or crime scene. There’s a 50/50 chance it is a ‘location shoot’ for a movie or TV series, instead. We stumbled upon what was apparently a scene being filmed for the NCIS Los Angeles series.

Our accommodations in downtown LA… the Hilton Checkers at 535 S Grand Ave. Great service in a grand old Spanish style building dating from 1927.

From our hotel, we were within walking distance of most of the above. The Staples Center was just a few blocks away, as well.

Bottomline: There is a migration underway… of Millennials and young professionals to downtown Los Angeles. They are searching for.. and apparently finding… the perfect work/lifestyle balance in a magical urban setting. Go see for yourself this downtown renaissance.

Check rates and availability at the Hilton Checkers for your next visit to Los Angeles.
